One-to-one spiritual direction

In our walk of faith, many have found that it is advantageous not only to have a corporate body of believers to worship with and a small group of believers to study with and support each other’s burdens but also one or two trust individuals who can help to ask us questions and give insights and guidance to help us along the way.

Of course there are many places you can (and should!) go to find a person such as this. It could be a pastor or teacher or Christian counselor that you already know. It might be a trusted Christian friend. The relationship might be more like Paul and Timothy (a mentor to a mentee) or it might be more like Paul and Barnabas (mutual encouragement between friends/peers). Above all, you should pick someone who is personally pursuing God and reflecting Christ likeness, someone who is a good listener, who knows the Word and is able to offer wisdom and insight.
