Discouragement and defeat? Or more than conquerors?

downloadDoubt.

Fear.

Accusation.

Loneliness.

Being misunderstood.

Being maligned and slandered.

Forgotten.

Forsaken.

Worry.

All of these are the waves of defeat and the fiery darts of the enemy that are leveled at God’s children everywhere.

Mondays seem to be full of these crashing waves.

But then again so do other days. Especially those days when we are tired. And those days that are full. And those conversations that aren’t especially “seasoned with salt”.

I want to share with you that the victory truly is yours in Christ Jesus!!

Jesus told us that the devil comes to “steal, kill and destroy” but that Jesus Himself comes to us that we might “have life and have it more abundantly”.

Paul reminds us in Romans that we are “more than conquerors”. How can we be “more than conquerors”? We either conquer or we don’t, right?

God is speaking the same message to us through Jesus’ and Paul’s words here. The life of overcoming every wave of fear and doubt is possible in Christ Jesus. The life of victorious living over accusation, worry and fear is possible. And God has not offered us His all-finished work in order that we might just “scrape by” but rather that we might overcome in an “exceedingly-abundant” way! God gives us life to the full!

We not only can resist temptation, but we can take hold of promises and blessings!

Not only can we be delivered from fear and doubt, but we can also live in the land of peace and joy, forevermore!

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has conceived what God has prepared for His beloved (that’s you and me!) but He is pouring it out on those who will receive every good thing that comes from the hand, face and voice of God.

In order for you and I to be victorious we must place ourselves fully in the hands of God. We must surrender our lives to Him. We must pray once and then always: “Lord in the world and in my sin I am defeated, help me live always in You, believing you and obeying you in all things”. This is a life of trust. This is a life of abiding.

Overcoming victory is possible if you read the Bible. It is possible if you pray. It is possible if you believe that God is who He says He is, that He does what He says He does. Victorious living is possible if you believe God.

Romans 8-37

Don’t listen to those other words. Don’t entertain the world’s ways of discouragement, hopelessness, failure, defeat, misery, and constant pessimism.

God wants you to be the victor, not the victim!

To be victorious today, please, ask the Lord to forgive you of your sins and cleanse your heart of all unrighteousness and selfishness. To live victoriously, ask the Lord to help you believe His Word over everything else in life. And to be the victor today, read the Bible and accept it as what is true and what defines reality. If you let God, He will help you overcome!!

Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of the Christ? tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  (according as it hath been written — `For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long, we were reckoned as sheep of slaughter,’) but in all these we more than conquer, through him who loved us; for I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor messengers, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things about to be, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, that [is] in Christ Jesus our Lord.
