The God of all Promise

The God that we serve is a God of promise. When He speaks He acts. What He promises, He fulfills. There is so much to be said about this, but I want to simply share with you some of Scriptures and 6 realities about the God of all promise:

Isaiah 55:11 NIV So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. (Also Is. 45:23, Matt 24:35)

1. God’s Word is His promise

1 Kings 8:56 NIV “Praise be to the LORD, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.

2. What God has spoken will come to pass

Jeremiah 1:12 NIV  “The LORD said to me …. ‘I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.’”

3. What/when God speaks He promises

Joshua 23:14 NIV “Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the LORD your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.

4. God is the God who promises Himself

2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

5. Receiving is as simple as believing and waiting on the Lord

Romans 4:16 NIV Therefore, the promise comes by faith…

6. God has given us Himself and His promises that we might be abide in Him and He in us forever!

2 Peter 1:4 NIV  Through these (His own glory and goodness, 2 Pet 1:3) he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
